In conjunction with local organizations, theaters, and media outlets, AMLA presents authentic Latin music programming in a variety of formats to the community. For more than 25 years, AMLA has organized concerts, workshops, clinics, film screenings, meet-and-greets, and other special events, as well as radio and TV programming on Latin music and dance.
Join our friends, South Philly Food Co-op, present Local Fruit and Veggie Tasting
We’ll be providing samples of in-season fruits and vegetables for everyone to sample. Bring your friends, bring your neighbors, bring your kids – this is a great way to become familiar with what is in-season in our region and maybe try something new. We will also feature a blind “Taste-Test” pitting Local/Organic versus conventional produce. Do you think you can tell the difference? Special thanks to Pennsylvania Horticulture Society for providing the grant to purchase the produce, and to Birchtree Catering for sourcing and cutting up the veggies and fruit.
KNIFE & FORK BANDTap your toes to this six-piece band based in the neighborhood featuring brother-sister harmony vocals, cello, fiddle, electric guitar, accordion and drums and bass. www.knifeandforkband.com
Joining us again are our friends, the South Philly Food Co-op with a DESERT BAKEOFF!
All events are FREE. Bring your own chair/blanket. Each event is subject to change and/or cancellation due to severe weather, which will be posted in the park. Sponsored by Passyunk Square Civic Association and Friends of Gold Star Park, which are all-volunteer, neighbor-run organizations with funding from the Philadelphia Activities Grant.
